Job SummaryThe Accounting Manager manages the daily operations of the accounting and finance department. This includes overseeing the preparation of financial statements and reports, maintaining accurate and complete financial records, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Accounting Manager will also work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information and develop and maintain internal controls.Essential Job FunctionsPerform professional level accounting duties according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Providing training and mentoring to other team members, overseeing day-to-day department operations.Design strategy and set goals for growth.Ensure employees work productively and have the tools to develop professionally.Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.Overseeing the preparation of financial statements and reportsReconciling monthly credit card & bank accounts Reconcile bank statements.Track and report expenses, review and analyze transactions for accuracy and business need.Assist in the preparation and payment of providers and vendors.Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closures.Assist with creating and implementing new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.Assist in the preparation for and coordination of internal audits and financial risk assessments.Other duties as requested.Knowledge, Skills, and CompetenciesStrong working knowledge of accounting principles and practicesIn-depth knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes OxleyGood organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.High attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)Proficiency in QuickBooks and or NetSuiteStrong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with substantial amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management.Open to development of skills and knowledge.Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change.Demonstrates flexibility in organizational needs to perform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.5+ years professional experience in accounting and finance.Healthcare experience, preferred.CPA, preferred.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Additional InformationMust abide by all HIPAA, Confidentiality & Privacy LawsReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.DISCLAIMER:Job descriptions are not meant to be all-inclusive and/or the job itself is subject to change.
