We have an immediate opening for a Sr Manufacturing Engineer at our West Palm Beach, Florida facility. This is a senior position that will work with supervision, Manufacturing Engineering, Component Engineering, Test Operations Engineering, and skilled hourly personnel engaged in assembly of turbomachinery and related components. Individual will support RL10 and RS-25 engine turbomachinery. Lead continuous improvement projects and track key business metrics to drive improved safety culture, quality, cost, lean manufacturing, and process time.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Under limited supervision, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer performs entry level professional assignments and follows established policies. This position requires professional judgment and use and/or application of advance principles, theories and concepts. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
40% - Work with Engineering and skilled hourly mechanics to develop new or improve existing hardware assembly processes, review engineering drawings. In supporting hourly mechanics this role will be responsibile for gaging and measurement techniques, including NDT processes. Related, provide time estimates for both mechanics and quality personnel to accomplish desired work tasks.
30% - Write work instructions to clearly communicate process steps to skilled hourly mechanics and inspectors, design and manufacture tooling.
20% - Provide leadership and coordinate projects focused on improvement of assembly processes.
10% - Analyze trends in cost, quality, lead time and help drive improvements as needed. Processes include requirement to create Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs) to support build structures.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 5 years minimum experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing and experience in an industrial production environment. Ideal candidate will also need a backgroiund using gages and other measuring techniques.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Some travel may be required (10%).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility.
