Description:The candidate will be the Electrical Engineering Functional Manager providing oversight and technical guidance to approximately 12-18 engineers that actively support classified and unclassified projects. The candidate will have demonstrated previous experience with research, planning, design and development of complex underwater electro-mechanical products and systems. Review and approve functional proposal inputs, cost, BOE, and new business development. Be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, employee training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. It is expected that the manager will be roughly 50% applied to direct program tasking. The manager will also be responsible for development of the engineering strategy in the areas of skills, tools and processes to drive efficiency and affordability.Basic Qualifications:Relevant Bachelor Degree and 15 years experience or Relevant Masters Degree with 12 years experience? Broad background in electrical engineering with specific experience in electronics design. ? Proven technical and project leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary hardware teams through all stages of the product life-cycle. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate well with peers and different levels of management. ? A strong work ethic and self-motivation. ? Candidate must be a leader who motivates, inspires, and teaches others.? Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance and direction to team while multi-tasking and prioritizing competing requirements. ? Demonstrated ability to manage Triage and Root Cause Investigation of system failure? Thinks strategically and act as change agent in responsible area with focus on affordability and advancing technical capabilities and innovation. ? Ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance (Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet this requirement)Desired Skills:? Previous experience in design,development, fabrication, and test of of underwater vehicle systems and subsystems.? Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools? Understanding & Experience with applying electrical engineering methodologies to system level designs ? Understanding of submersible system design including aspects of electrical grounding and isolation, acoustic sensors, and subsea hardware like submersible housing and cabling interconnect? Knowledge of energy plants (batteries, generators, fuel cells, etc) for mobile systems? Understanding of power distribution and signal distribution architectures and methods? Familiarization with electrical equipment and electronic devices such as motors, motor controllers, PLC, embedded computers, I/O systems, actuators, solenoids, and instrumentation? Practical knowledge and experience with engineering tools such as EPDM, MATLAB, OrCAD, Zuken. ? Candidate will aid subordinates, colleagues, and associates through coaching, mentoring, career counseling, and technical challenges.?
