External Description
The experienced National Account Director will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio of national payers impacting Rayaldee business, including national and regional payers and PBMs under Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and Commercial umbrellas. The primary objective is to ensure OPKO Renal products are accessible to patients with minimal restrictions, using fiscally sound contracting strategies that meet corporate net income goals. Other responsibilities include:


  • Developing and implementing the national strategic and tactical plan for market access
  • Assessing account economics and opportunities to minimize utilization management tools in negotiations
  • Developing account business cases and analytics to support strategy
  • Executing strategies to influence coverage policy decisions within accounts
  • Establishing relationships with stakeholders within assigned accounts
  • Identifying marketplace trends and barriers proactively
  • Providing updates and analytics to leadership, sales managers, and field sales
  • Coordinating and executing pull-through programs with field sales

    The ideal candidate will bring to OPKO RENAL:

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Life Sciences or Business Administration; Master's degree or MBA preferred
    • At least 15 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, with 8 years in account management and 4 years managing National Accounts/payer relationships
    • Understanding of payer influences on prescription drugs, including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, commercial payers, and PBMs
    • Experience with prescription drug fulfillment options, including HUBs and specialty pharmacies
    • Proficiency with spreadsheets for financial impact analysis of contracting strategies
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
    • Ability to influence without authority
    • Experience in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment, demonstrating a "CEO" mindset
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills, with cultural competence
    • Strong organizational and preparation skills
    • Excellent personal and customer service skills
    • Willingness to travel as needed
    • Experience with CRM/Salesforce and Microsoft Office programs
    • Ability to learn OPKO products and become clinically competent in disease states, products, and competitors
    • Proficiency in Salesforce.com, MMIT Analytics, IQVIA/PowerBI, Microsoft Office, and payer portals
