Founded in 2015 and Franchising since 2019, Scenthound is a wellness-centered, membership-based dog grooming business and has 5 corporate scenters open and operating in Florida where the company is based. The model takes a unique approach to grooming with a focus on the five core areas of routine and preventive care for dogs; Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails, and Teeth (SCENT). Scenthound launched the Franchise opportunity in 2019 and has over 114 locations open or in development across 12 states.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Scenthound is looking for a Franchise Legal Administrative Assistant to support Scenthound's franchise business model. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and drafting franchise and franchisor-related agreements, supporting the Legal, Compliance and Development teams, and assisting with managing and ensuring compliance of Scenthound franchises. The ideal candidate is a professional with excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail and enjoys a fast paced environment requiring the ability to multi-task and adapt to meet deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program, or an associate degree is preferred.
  • 1-5 years of franchise business experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or high-level administrative assistant (or combination thereof).
  • Franchising experience is required

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide direct support to the attorneys and assist other members of the Development team in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
    • Provide professional legal support in the areas of contract administration.
    • Interface with franchise transactions personnel, as well as franchisees, to assist with due diligence and obtain all required information for completion of franchise agreements and related documents.
    • Prepare, draft, and distribute legal documents including but not limited to: franchise agreements, multi-unit development agreements, amendments, default and termination notices, purchase agreements, and any other documentation relative to the franchisor and/or franchisees.
    • Review and screen information, comments, and questions received from franchisees and their counsel, and prepare initial draft responses for attorney review.
    • Leverage technology to improve efficiency throughout contract generation and execution process.
    • Undertake special assignments, including research, review, and analysis of contract documentation and other issues, as requested.
    • Manage tracking of agreements by maintaining and managing the central database of agreement and franchisee information.
    • Obtain information and assist in the preparation of franchise disclosure documents and collateral documents for submission to government authorities.
    • Collect and review corporate entity documents for new franchisees.
    • Respond as necessary to miscellaneous franchise development issues.
    • Assist with the annual filing of the Franchise Disclosure Document and state registrations

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Accountability and being able to adapt to multiple responsibilities that come with working in a growing, ever-evolving company.
      • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point and contract management software.
      • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, applicable legal terminology, and appropriately handle highly confidential information.
      • Excellent organizational skills, such as the ability to categorize, sort and utilize information and/or materials in a meaningful, efficient, and logical manner.
      • Acute attention to detail and the ability to carefully proof all work, and use proper grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, and sentence structure.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills. .
      • Willingness to be a team player, but capable of working effectively with little supervision.
      • Prior experience with ZohoOne platform a plus
