Description:The Airframe Structural Analysis Group is responsible
for ensuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage,
landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments
to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic
Structural integrity responsibilities cover composite and
conventional structures and extend from conceptualization on
through development, manufacturing and field service support. In
fulfilling its function, adherence to the appropriate design
criteria and other directives mandated by the customer and or
regulatory agencies is strictly maintained.
General functions: Static structural analysis and Margin of Safety
determination, fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis of critical
interfaces, field support (repair design/analysis), production
support, formal analysis documentation.
Additional functions: Determination of airframe component
replacement and / or retirement times, specification and design of
airframe related static and fatigue tests, flight test
instrumentation & limits.
Analytical processes include classical closed form solutions as
well as finite element analysis.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
Engineering from an accredited college plus 2 Years professional
experience in airframe structural analysis or closely related
Alternatively, may be Master's Degree plus 1 year experience (same
Working knowledge of airframe structure Finite Element
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office products.
Working knowledge of composite airframe structural analysis.
Exposure to rotary-wing airframe structural analysis.
NASTRAN/PATRAN modeling of global & local airframe structure.
A course of study with emphasis on the principles of statics,
kinematics, inertial loading, strength of materials, aerospace
structural analysis, Finite Element analysis and numerical analysis
Well developed technical problem solving skills to anticipate next
